Children from different ethnic and religious backgrounds live together at BHCH. The care team includes both Nepalese and Tibetans. The children learn at an early age to take responsibility for themselves and the community. They live in family-like groups and are looked after by caring house parents. The children grow up in a safe, well-kept and rural environment.
BHCH attaches great importance to a solid education. Qualified local teachers teach at the in-house school. Even after leaving BHCH, the young people are supported and supervised on their educational path. After successfully completing the 10th school year, most of the young people complete vocational training or attend college. BHCH accompanies the young people until they have found a job and are able to support themselves.
Alumni
To date, over 640 children (as of 2022) have been admitted to BHCH, many of whom have already left BHCH. Many former pupils remain associated with BHCH. There is already a large network of BHCH graduates. The Alumni Club supports the children at BHCH in word and deed.
