The children's home and school are housed in nine buildings that were constructed in 1999/2000 and 2006/2007. The initiator of the project is Marlies Kornfeld from Bern, who has been committed to helping the disadvantaged for more than 40 years: she first became involved in Tibetan refugee aid and has been supporting development cooperation in Nepal since 1999.
